Job Title: Interim/Fractional CTO - Giftstart
Location: Remote
About Giftstart: Giftstart is a comprehensive baby registry platform that offers expectant parents a one-stop-shop for all their baby registry needs, including products, services, subscriptions, and even cash funds. We are a dynamic and fast-growing company that is changing the way families prepare for the arrival of a new baby.
About the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Interim/Fractional CTO to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a tech leader to take our technology and engineering initiatives to the next level, while also having the option to switch to full-time if mutually desired.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of the company's technology strategy, with a focus on headless commerce and API-driven solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of projects
- Mentor and manage a team of engineers, ensuring high quality and timely delivery of projects
- Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for their adoption and integration into Giftstart's technology stack
- Develop and implement processes and methodologies to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the engineering team
- Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO, providing insights and recommendations on technology and product development
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software products
- Strong experience with modern web technologies and architecture patterns
- Excellent leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of engineers
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Shopify and its API
- Headless commerce
